The feature that you describe is called ‘mode toggling’, which is an option for your pen buttons in the Pen Tablet Preferences. This allows the pointer to either track across all the displays like a mouse or map only to the Modbook's display.

Also, using some AppleScripts at Modbookish, you can change the display your Modbook's tablet maps to.
